A fantastic antique Chippendale style mahogany leather top desk in the Chippendale style. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1890-1910 period.
It is very well made, sitting on beautiful cabriole legs with acanthus leaf carving at the knees, terminating in claw and ball feet. The top has a gadrooned edge and lovely inset tooled leather writing surface. There is lots of storage space in the five generous drawers, this has a nicely finished back so can be used as a free standing item.
We have just had this re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age, with just some minor old wear here and there beneath the polish.
