This high, curved back antique Georgian style leather armchair has lots of charm & character. The leather is deep buttoned & in good original condition. It’s also individually hand tacked & is very comfortable. It sits on grooved tapered mahogany legs. I would say this armchair dates to around the 1920-30’s period. The high curved back is quite unusual & I think it’s influenced by the old porters chairs they used to have in hotel lobbies. These chairs were curved on the backs to stop the draft on the neck & some of them had a canopy on top.
