This antique mahogany & rosewood Sheraton style Edwardian armchair is of very high quality & has many fine inlays.
It dates from around the 1890-1900 period & is in very good original condition, having just been polished & re-upholstered.
This chair is predominately mahogany, with some rosewood sections & fine inlays of other exotic woods. There is a bit of wear on the wood, mainly on one of the arm supports which is clearly shown in one of the images. However, this chair is structurally sound, sturdy & has plenty of character.
The seat & back have just been re-upholstered in a natural cotton fabric with double piped edges. The back is shield shaped & beautifully inlaid. It has inlaid swept out arms & sits on inlaid tapered spade end legs.
