A gorgeous antique French escritoire writing desk in rosewood, dating from around the 1880-1900 period.

It is of extremely fine quality, with stunning rosewood grain patterns and kingwood parquetry veneers on the drawer fronts. There are beautifully cast gilt bronze mounts, and an inset leather top writing surface.
There is also a pieced brass gallery running around the top section.

We have had this recently re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age, with just some minor historical wear beneath the polish here and there. the back is also nicely finished, so this can be used as a free standing item.
