Antique George III mahogany library bookcase in two sections & in very good original condition. The astral-glazed top section has three bookshelves inside that are fully adjustable & slide in & out on fixed grooves. The back is all original & is covered over with fabric. This is how we obtained it, so we though we should leave it in, but it could easily be taken out. The bottom cupboards have solid mahogany panels & there are fine ebony inlays around the edges. I would date this bookcase to around the 1790-1810 period. It’s high quality, with working keys & sits on bracket feet. There is a bit of fade in places, but nothing untoward, so we didn’t want to send it off for re-polishing. It also comes apart into two sections for easy transportation.
