This antique Chippendale style breakfront bookcase is of extremely high quality & has nice small proportions. I would date it to around the 1920’s period & it’s in very good condition, with many fine details. It has a dental top frieze, above which is a swan neck pediment with carved rosettes. The top doors have fine astral glazing & there is a brass beading between the middle two doors. Behind the doors there is a painted interior & adjustable bookshelves with sharks tooth supports. The base section has four flame mahogany central drawers, all graduated in depth, with locks, original brass handles & fine dovetails. The two outside cupboards have flame mahogany panels with single shelves inside. This bookcase sits on bracket feet & separates into two sections for easy transportation.
