This antique mahogany Regency style sofa table dates from around the 1910-20’s period & is in excellent original condition.
It very high quality, right down to the shaped out wooden swing out supports under the flaps. The wood is predominately mahogany, with lots of satinwood bandings & inlays, plus some ebony stringing too. It’s structurally sound & stable. The stability is helped by the two support stretchers from the leg pedestals up the the under-frame.
This table has a lovely mellow colour. There are original brass handles on the front drawers & also on the back dummy drawers. The working drawers have very fine dovetails & solid wood drawer bottoms. The legs have original brass capped casters.
Please enlarge all the images, to appreciate the quality & fine details like the satinwood bandings on the legs, etc. It’s one of the nicest examples I’ve had & there are no splits or warps.
