Very nice example of an antique mahogany campaign desk, which looks great from all angles, sides back & front. It's in excellent condition having just been French polished & dates to around the 1930-50's period. There are brass corner pieces all the way around from the top down to the bottom plinths & the drawers have inset brass military handles. The top three drawers also have locks. The leather writing surface looks original & does have some old markings, which only add to the character. There also brass carrying handles on the sides, which I believe are more for design than to use. I particularly like the way the brass fittings have nicely aged, which goes with the character look of the leather & the mahogany finish. This desk also comes apart into three sections to make transportation easier.
