Antique yew wood & mahogany writing table desk of extremely fine quality & in good original condition, dating from around the 1910 period. The top section consists of an arrangement of stepped up small drawers with with simulated bone handles, plus there's a gallery above & a cavity in the middle. The tooled leather writing surface is original & still good. Below that are two larger drawers with brass laurel wreath design handles. The drawers are are cross banded & finely dovetailed. The legs are in the form of an X-Frame & taper down with brass cup caters. There is a well turned cross stretcher attached between the legs, which not only looks nice, but also adds extra stability. The figuring on the wood is very vivid & the are more fine features that I haven't mentioned, so please enlarge all the images.
