A fantastic antique Swedish Biedermeier sofa in mahogany. This was recently imported from Sweden, it dates from around the 1850-1870 period.

It is of superb quality and is quite a statement piece. The frame has a beautiful, sweeping design with an arched pediment at the top of the back rest. The flat back is finished in pine, this was designed to go against a wall, but the back is also upholstered.

The condition is excellent for its age, the mahogany has been re-polished and this has been re-upholstered in a high quality grey fabric. There is just some very minor wear to the frame here and there beneath the polish.
