This antique Swedish Biedermeier secr?taire is in good condition & full of character. It has many interesting features, especially the busy interior & I would date it to around the 1860’s period. The wood is predominately satin birch with ebonised columns on the sides. This secr?taire has one drawer at the top & three more below the fall. The top drawer & the drop flap are inlaid around the edges. The top section has a concave shape & this piece sits on sabre legs. The satin birch has a wonderful grain & the brass handle escutcheons are original too. The inside of the writing section is stunning, with many different sized drawers & cupboards.
