An excellent antique Victorian writing table in walnut, this dates from around the 1860-1880 period.
It is of extremely fine quality, is very sturdy and heavy for its size. This is constructed from solid walnut, with stunning burr walnut veneers on the top and the drawer fronts. There are finely turned handles and legs on original casters. There is a nice combination of two smaller drawers either side of a large middle drawers which has a lock & key.
The inset leather top is gold tooled and hand coloured. This desk is also nicely polished on the back, so can be used as a free standing item.
We have just had this re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age. It’s quite rare to find these models in burr walnut.
