Top quality large antique Victorian ‘Campaign’ chest of drawers with all the original brass fittings & military brass handles. This chest is full of character, having a good colour & patina. As with most of these Colonial pieces, it’s solid teak, but it looks more like mahogany in colour. It separates into two sections & sits on the original turned bun feet. The grain of the wood is lovely throughout & the drawers are finely dovetailed. I would date it to around the 1840-60 period, but it may be even older. The drawers all work well & it’s structurally sound throughout. It’s also a good size, so it not only looks great, but there is plenty of useful storage inside. These original campaign chests are becoming hard to find in this condition & please don’t confuse this piece with all the made up ones being offered on the market.
