A large and impressive antique Victorian mahogany filing chest of drawers. This was made in England, we would date it to around the 1880-1900 period.
The quality is outstanding, this has a useful and interesting design. The many drawers all pull out completely to serve as filing trays with two open sides. The drawers have brass handles, and there is a central locking system that locks all of the drawers at once by turning the handle on the plinth base.
We have had this recently re-polished, it is in excellent condition for its age. There is some minor wear here and there remaining beneath the polish, with a beautiful overall patina.
