A smart and very well made antique Victorian period writing desk in mahogany. This was made in England, it dates from around 1860-1880.
It is of great quality and is a very useful size. The inset leather to is hand coloured and gold tooled, there is a single drawer with nicely turned handles and fine, hand cut dovetailed joints. This sits on beautifully turned solid mahogany legs terminating in porcelain casters. The back of the desk is also nicely finished, so this can be used as a free standing item.
We have just had this re-polished, the condition is very good for its age. There are just some minor marks and indentations here and there beneath the polish, commensurate for age.
