A smart and useful antique early Victorian writing table / desk in mahogany. This was made in England, it dates from the 1840-1860’s.

It sits on beautifully turned and fluted legs, with a hand coloured tooled leather writing surface. The drawers have nicely turned handles and fine, hand cut dovetailed joints.

We have had this recently re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age. The mahogany has a beautiful colour tone and patina, with some small marks and indentations here and there beneath the polish, commensurate for age.
