An outstanding antique pedestal desk in burr walnut with an inset leather top. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1900-1920’s period.
It is of superb quality and is of large proportions. This model is sometimes called a cushioned top desk, as the top edges have curved sides which protrude slightly, giving it a beautiful design aspect. There are stunning burr walnut veneers on the drawer fronts and beautiful herringbone inlays on the sides, all on solid oak construction. This sits on bracket feet and has lovely original brass handles. The inset leather top is gold tooled and hand coloured.
We have had this desk re-polished to a very high standard, the condition is excellent for its age. There are a few small marks and bumps here and there beneath the polish, this retains plenty of charm and character, with a gorgeous patina.
This desk comes in three sections, so can be easily moved into any room.
