Pair of antique Swedish satin birch bergere armchairs in excellent original condition & dating from around the 1920’s period, which have just been re-upholstered in our regular cream cotton linen fabric. The cushions are sprung & still have the original springs inside. We normally replace these cushions with feathers, but we thought we would keep them as they were made. The satin birch frames are beautifully carved all over, so please enlarge all the images to appreciate the fine details. They have carved scroll over arms & paw feet. These chairs have the original double cane panels on the sides & the backs, which are all in good condition too. It’s been a while since we found a nice pair in Sweden & they are getting harder to find. This pair are one of the nicer examples we have had & the satin birch frames are a really warm colour.
