Pair of antique Swedish carved satin birch Bergere armchairs in excellent condition & dating to around the 1920’s period. The frames are solid satin birch, with superb carvings on the ends of the scroll over arms, above the legs & all around the bases. They also have carved hairy paw feet. The cane work is in excellent original condition too & is double skinned. They have just been French polished & completely re-upholstered in a natural cotton fabric with plumply filled feather cushions. These chairs are a very nice model & the satin birch frames have that typical silky finish, with a lovely grain in the wood. They are also very comfortable.
