Nice quality antique Victorian ‘envelope card table’ in rosewood with some exquisite classical inlays on the top section.
This card table is in good condition, having just been polished & I would date it to around the 1880’s period.
It’s a very clever design, with the top section spinning around so the corners of the playing surface will be supported on the corners of the base. The inside playing surface has just had a new baize lining & there are cut out cups on the corner edges. There is a drawer below & this table is finished off all the way around, with more satinwood inlay on the sides & also on the bottom platform. The legs are well shaped & have brass cupped casters.
