Very unusual pair of matching antique burr walnut drop leaf Pembroke tables, in excellent condition & with lots of fine features.
They are William & Mary in style & I would date them to around the 1930’s period. Unlike the normal Pembroke these tables have a drawer on both ends. Each top section has separate burr walnut patterns with figured walnut cross bandings & ebony stringing between. The drawer fronts also have the same design with brass handles & locks. The legs have a William & Mary barley twist design & are joined by shaped cross stretchers with finials in the middle, plus turned bun feet below.
These tables have a wonderful design & the tops have an interesting shape when the flaps are up. In a large room they would look great as lamp tables either end of a sofa. Or they would make individual dining tables. I suppose we could separate them to sell individually, but it seems a shame to split them up.
