A gorgeous antique Victorian period buffet stand in burr walnut. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1860’s.
The quality is fantastic, it is a very useful and sturdy item. There are stunning burr walnut grain patterns, the legs are finely turned with excellent details and this has beautiful pierced fretwork around the top edges. The front edges have a serpentine shaped design, and this sits on original white porcelain casters.
We have recently had this re-polished, it is in lovely condition for its age. It has a beautiful colour and mellow patina, with some minor wear remaining beneath the polish here and there. The intricate fretwork on the top edge has one tiny piece missing, which is barely noticeable unless you study it very closely.
