A charming pair of vintage Gothic style oak pedestals, made by the British manufacturer A R Mowbray & Co Ltd. They were made in England, one was made in 1940, the other in 1942.
Mowbray and Co appear to have made church furnishings, these were likely used in a church to display ornamental objects. They would be very useful as lamp tables or plant stands in a variety of settings.
The quality is superb, they are extremely well made and solidly built. We have had them re-polished, they are in great condition for their age with plenty of character and charm.
