Pair of Antique Swedish Oak Bergere Armchairs

Very impressive pair of antique Swedish bergere armchairs with superbly carved oak frames, cane sides & of generous proportions. They are in excellent condition, having just been polished & re-upholstered & they have just come over from Sweden. Please enlarge all the images to appreciate the quality of the carvings & all the fine details. These armchairs are also very comfortable & the seats are fully sprung. I would date these chairs to around the 1880-90's period & they are not a model I've ever come across before. The oak has a nice light colour which is similar to a walnut colour.

Antique French Burr Walnut Dressing Table

This stunning antique French dressing table is very high quality & has fabulous features. The wood looks like a very tight burr walnut, but it could be something more exotic like Amboyna. We have had it polished, however there is natural ageing showing mainly on the top, which give it more character & in keeping with the rest of this piece. The well defined gilt bronze mounts, candle holders, feet & handles are amazing quality. Please enlarge the images to see how nice they are. You will see that the gilding has rubbed in places & you can see the bronze underneath. See the amazing detail everywhere, especially the floral decoration running up either side. It's even on the tighteners for the mirror & on the feet. The adjustable mirror is bevelled & there are three drawers in the table, with lovely handles. The back is all polished too & the mirror can be taken off when transporting. I would say this dressing table days to around the 1890-1900 period & it's in good condition all over.

Antique French Inlaid Parquetry Etagere

Antique French two tiered etagere with kingwood parquetry, inlays & gilt bronze mounts of exceptional quality. It has a fluted central column & sits on tripod legs. There are kingwood panels on the tops & sides of the tripod legs. This table oozes quality all over, so please enlarge all the images to see all the fine details. I believe it dates to around the 1860 period, but could be older, judging from the quality.

Pair of Antique Swedish Biedermeier Stools

Very stylish pair of antique Swedish Biedermeier elm stools that have just been re-polished & re-upholstered in a taupe coloured fabric. They are in great condition & date from around the 1860-80's period. The side rails have a very interesting shape & they sit on sabre shaped legs. Personally, I think they would look very good at the end of a double bed, but they could have many other uses in the home.

Antique Victorian Deep Buttoned Leather Chaise Lounge

This is an original Victorian chaise lounge that has been completely re-upholstered in deep buttoned leather, then hand coloured & antiqued by a leather specialist. The mahogany legs are turned & reeded with original brass casters. This chaise has a lovely shaping, with some curvature along the base towards the right hand legs. The high end is generously scrolled over & the back rest is also curved on the top. This is quite a uniquely shaped chaise lounge & has generous proportions, with plenty of depth on the seat too. It's in excellent condition & date from around the 1860-80's period.

Pair of Antique French Gilt Wood Side Chairs

This pair of antique French gilt wood side chairs are in great shape, besides the original upholstery. They are part of a whole set being sold on this site, including a sofa & matching pair of salons. There is an image of the complete set below & they are also being shown separately on the site. I would rather sell it all together, but they are also available separately. They are all structurally sound & the gilt frames have naturally aged with the red layer underneath showing through. This all give them a great character look. The carving is exquisite too & they sit on fluted legs. I would date them to around the 1850's period, give or take 25 years.

Antique Swedish Leather Chesterfield Sofa

This antique Swedish deep buttoned leather Chesterfield sofa has very generous proportions & is very comfortable. The leather is all original & in good condition. It's not like the normal English traditional chesterfields, because the back is higher, so it actually has far more comfort & support. This piece is also very heavy due to the quality of the build & I would date it to around the 1910 period. The leather has been professionally revived & polished, so the colour is really warm & it has loads of character.

This antique walnut coffee table has a wonderful mellow colour & is full of character. It is beautifully carved all over & the deep carvings between the legs are stunning. This coffee table is in good condition all over & dates from around the 1920's period. The top is burr walnut, the sides are figured walnut & the rest is solid walnut.

Antique Victorian Leather Chaise Lounge Ottoman

This is an original antique Victorian chaise lounge ottoman dating from the 1880’s period that we have had re-upholstered in leather & then hand coloured & antiqued. We have tried to keep the same design which was very practicable & it still has the original feet & casters. This piece is finished off on the back the same as the front. It has a deep buttoned head or arm rest & the leather is hand tacked all over onto the frame. One of the nicest features is the lift up seat, revealing loads of storage inside. There is a leather handle to aid lifting the seat lid up & two straps to stop the seat falling too far back. It’s of quite small proportions too.
