Impressive & rare pair of Swedish Biedermeier satin birch open bookcases in excellent original condition & dating from the late 19th century. I don’t really want to split them up, because it’s so hard to find a pair. Please enlarge all the images to see the beautiful grain of wood. There is some fine ebony inlay on the top sections. These bookcases are quite large, so please check the measurements. They have three shelves on each & the insides are polished too.

Antique Edwardian Inlaid Mahogany Revolving Bookcase£750.00 + VAT
These revolving bookcases are becoming very popular, because not only are they good looking, but they are very practicable too, as they hold a lot of books. This one is antique Edwardian from the 1900-10 period & is in excellent original condition. It’s all in mahogany & has a satinwood inlay near the top edge. There are four book compartments on the top section & four more below. It revolves on a four prong base that still has the original brown porcelain casters.

Large antique Georgian style mahogany display cabinet on cupboard dating from around the 1930-50’s period & in excellent condition. This cabinet has a dental cornice, with tear drop mouldings below. The top section has reeded canted corners & fine astral glazed doors, while the inside is polished & has glass shelves. The two bottom doors have flame mahogany panels & corner roundels The base also has reeded canted corners & sits on bracket feet. I particularly like the pull out middle slide which still has the original tooled leather insert. This display cabinet is of high quality & has a lot of storage. It also comes apart into two sections for easy transportation.

Antique Victorian satinwood open bookcase with adjustable shelves & sitting on a single drawer base section. It’s in very good condition & dates from around the 1860-80’s period. The corners are curved all the way down from the very pronounced cornice, right down to the plinth base. There’s a deep drawer on the base section, with fine dovetails, a lock & original bun handles. The satinwood has a lovely warm colour & a beautiful patterned grain. This bookcase comes apart into two sections for easy transportation.

Antique Edwardian Mahogany Bookcase£750.00 + VAT
Fine quality mahogany antique glazed bookcase dating from around the 1910 period & in good condition. There is a blind fretwork pattern around the top & the well shaped bracket feet are carved on the tops. The two doors have very attractive astral-glazing & inside there are adjustable mahogany shelves. This bookcase has one other very useful detail. There’s a small overhanging section on the back of the sides, which allow this piece to be placed closer to the wall by avoiding skirting boards. This is the sort of attention to detail that one would expect on better quality items.

Antique Period George III Mahogany Two Section Bookcase
This very imposing antique George III bookcase from the 1790’s period has quite an unusual & rare design, having astral-glazed top & bottom doors. It’s mahogany & the glass panels appear to be original. There is a Greek Key moulding below the cornice, a pull out slide in the middle & it sits on bracket feet. It’s in very good original condition & there is a working key. The top bookshelves are adjustable. This bookcase has been polished sympathetically so still shows the character. It lifts apart into two sections for easy transportation.
