This antique Regency style rosewood sofa table is extremely high quality, in excellent condition & I would date it from around the 1930's period. Please enlarge all the images to see all the many fine details. The attention to detail is incredible, right down to the four shaped fold out supports for the drop ends. The top has three inlaid cross banded panels & a reeded edge. The drawers & back panels are also inlaid & cross banded. This table sits on X-framed fluted legs with a well turned cross stretcher joining them up. There are all sorts of other classical embellishments on the tops & sides of the frame, plus other fine details around the top section. The drawers are finely dovetailed & have brass handles. There are also brass capped casters on the feet. This one of the nicest models I've seen & must have been made by a top cabinet maker.

There are a pair of these antique sofa tables available right now. I might separate them, but other dealers are always telling me that they are very sale-able in pairs. The grain of the wood is spectacular all over & they are finished on the backs too. The top has shaped drop flaps & is cross banded around the edges. These tables sit on strong flat supports which are on well define pad feet. The drawers are finely dovetailed & have brass handles. They are in good condition & have a lovely mellow colour. I would date them to around the 1910-20's period. Please note they are priced individually.

The base section has an interesting design, with three turned legs on each side, two turned cross stretchers & sitting on George III pad feet. It's good quality throughout. The top is burr walnut with a cross banded edge & the drawers are inlaid too.

Antique Edwardian solid mahogany drop leaf table which is very practicable because it folds down almost flat. These tables are generally known as 'Sutherland Tables' (The Sutherland table is supposed to be named for Harriet, Duchess of Sutherland (1806 to 1868). It is a folding table whose top is so narrow that, when folded, it can be stood against a wall without taking up much space). This table is in excellent condition & surprisingly stable when the flaps are up. The flaps are supported by the swing out legs. This table could actually be used as an occasional dining table.

Antique Regency style burr walnut sofa table, dating from around the 1930-50's period & in good condition. The top is a beautifully patterned burr walnut with an inlaid border near the edge & the drawer fronts are burr walnut too, with original brass handles. The top edge is reeded & it has lyre shaped ends with sabre legs below on brass capped casters. The legs are joined together by a turned cross stretcher with gives it a nice look & also makes it stronger. Originally these sofa tables were intended to put behind a sofa, but they are equally useful as side tables or even writing tables. This table is finished on the back too, with dummy drawers.

Impressive antique burr walnut sofa table with shaped drop ends. It's in excellent condition & dates from around the 1930's period. The burr walnut veneers are beautifully patterned all over & this table has a lovely mellow colour. The front & back are polished. The top is also cross banded & the two drawers have original pierced brass handles. The sides & the bottom stretcher are all well shaped to match & the stretcher helps give the table more stability. These sofa tables were originally designed to go behind the flat back of a sofa, but they equally work as general side tables or could even be used as desks.
