Antique Edwardian Solid Silver Tea Caddy C. 1912£495.00 + VAT
Antique Edwardian solid silver tea caddy in good condition, which in the images is tarnished, so it just needs a good silver polish. It is clearly hallmarked as you can see in the images & dates to 1912. I think it’s a tea caddy, but I suppose it could have other uses. It’s good quality, with fine castings & I particularly like the acorn design on the top.

Enormous Antique Gilt Wood Mirror with Oil Painting£7,500.00 + VAT
Very high & very decorative antique gilt wood mirror with some wonderful features including a magnificent signed painting. It’s very hard to show a good image of this mirror & to convey the very large proportions. It looks far better in real life. Please enlarge all the images to appreciate the features. It has outside panelled mirrors & the main one in the middle. In between, are plain painted panels. There’s a magnificent painting on the top of winged cherubs which is signed (see image) & there are floral swags across the top of the mirror. This mirror is very high at just under 9 feet & won’t fit under our shop ceiling, however, it can be viewed in our warehouse. It’s in good original condition & I would date it to around the 1860-80’s period.

Pair of Antique Venetian Blackamoor Candelabra Sculptures£15,000.00 + VAT
Stunning & rare pair of antique Venetian Blackamoor candelabra sculptures. They are in good condition & the candelabras have been wired up for lighting more recently. They are very large, incredibly detailed & the Nubian figures are very lifelike. These pieces were made from carved Italian wood, under layers were applied, then they were gilded in places had other specialised finished applied elsewhere. The result was magnificent. Please enlarge all the images to see all the fine details & condition, because I couldn’t possibly describe everything. We just took them out of a large residence near London & the previous owners had purchased them in Paris many years ago & had them wired. I would date them to the last quarter of the 19th century, or possibly early 20th. Difficult to say exactly as I’m not an expert in blackamoors. I do know that these are the finest items I have come across.

Set of Three Very Large Antique Holy Bibles 1778 , 1813 & 1844£1,495.00 + VAT
A beautiful and very rare set of three antique holy bibles, each containing the new and old testaments. The oldest dates from 1778, it is Willoughby's Family bible, published in London by J. Wilkie. It's in quite remarkable condition for it's age, there is some minor damage to the spine so this must be handled with extreme care, but all is intact. The next oldest is from 1813, published in Liverpool by Nuttall, Fisher & Dixon. This one also has some damage to the spine, it looks as though it may have been repaired; all is intact but again, this must be handled with care. The third dates from 1844, and was published in Glasgow by Blackie & Son. This one is structurally very sound, but as with all of these extremely old books, must be handled with care! All three have beautiful illustrations, and have beautifully worn covers with plenty of patina and character. It's hard to get a sense of the scale in the images, but these are really quite huge and very impressive. We will not post these, delivery only by hand by a courier due to the fragile nature, we can get delivery quotes to anywhere. Collection in person also welcome.
