Very decorative large antique French mantle clock encased in onyx, with lots of gilt metal decoration & sitting on gilded feet. On top of the clock section is a very detailed classical gilt metal figure of a woman & a child. This item has also been converted to a lamp & does actually work. The clock itself is not working right now. It came out of a private residence & would probably need a clock repairer to check it over. Having said that, we don’t have a key & haven’t even tried to wind it up yet, so maybe it will work fine. There is a small hole on both sides of the onyx base, which I have only noticed. Not sure why that’s there, but you can see it in the images. The clock face is painted enamel & there are two wind up holes, so I believe there is a chimer. This clock dates to around the 1890 – 1910 period. I’m not sure whether to call it a clock, statue or a lamp.
