A top quality and very impressive antique Victorian mahogany wardrobe. This was made by the high end manufacturer James Shoolbred in England, and it dates from around 1880-1900 period.
This is very well made and it is a great size, large and impressive while not being too imposing. There are beautifully carved mouldings on the upper doors and pediment, the cornice has lovely detail and this sits on turned solid mahogany bun feet. There is a high quality bevelled glass mirror in the central door, and original brass handles on the doors and drawers.
This wardrobe is very practical with lots of storage space, the top two sections have lots of hooks and a hanging rail, the lower drawers are also deep and generous.
We have had this recently revived and re-polished, it has a beautiful patina with various small signs of age related wear here and there. It breaks down into four smaller pieces for ease of transport.
