A stunning antique brass mantel clock, this was made in Germany and dates from around the 1900-1910 period. It was made by the renowned clock maker Junghans of Wurttenberg, the makers mark is seen stamped inside.
This model is known as a Napoleon hat clock, for obvious reasons! It is of extremely high quality and is in very good condition for its age. All the parts are there including the original pendant and winder. We are not clock experts, but we have given this a good clean inside and out, it seems to be in good working order. It chimes every half hour.
Napoleon Hat style mantel clocks are very common in wood, but I have never come across one in brass before. I also like the bevelled glass panel under the dial.
