Antique William IV mahogany writing table, dating from around the 1830-40’s period & in very good original condition.
There are various age related marks & indentations, which are to be expected & only add to the overall character of this desk. We refuse to strip & polish this desk, which would totally destroy the character. It is structurally sound, plus free from splits or warps.
The tooled leather writing surface is also full of character & still in good condition. I think it could even be original, or at least very old.
There are two drawers with fine dovetails, brass handles & original locks. The turned legs are fluted & have original brass cupped casters.
This desk has rounded corners & a polished back, so it looks good free standing. It also has plenty of depth, so there is plenty of working area.
