A fantastic antique writing table in mahogany, otherwise known as a bonheur du jour. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1930’s.
It is of amazing quality with many fine features. There is an inset tooled green leather writing surface with three drawers beneath. There are six smaller drawers in the upper back section, with a small locking cabinet and four open pigeon holes. The back gallery has a pie crust edge, this sits on beautifully turned and fluted legs. It is designed to go against a wall but the back is also nicely polished, so it can be used as a free standing item.
We have had this completely re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age, with some minor wear beneath the polish here and there.
