A superb antique Victorian leather top writing table / desk in burr walnut. This was made in England by Holland & Sons, it dates from around 1860-1880.
The quality is outstanding, this is as fine a writing table of the period as you could find. The burr walnut grain patterns are gorgeous, the drawers, sides and back have fine inlaid banding of figured walnut. There is crisp carving at the top and bottom of the finely turned legs, which sit on original brass casters. The back of the desk is nicely finished, so this can be used as a free standing item.
You can clearly see the makers name stamped on the drawer.
The condition is excellent for its age, we have just had this re-polished. the leather top has also been replaced with a hand coloured and tooled faded black leather.
