A superb antique Victorian period pedestal desk in mahogany. This was made in England, it dates from around 1860-1880.
It is of fantastic quality and has a lovely design. The top has an inverted breakfront shape, with an inset leather top that is hand coloured and gold tooled. The drawers are graduated in depth, all with locks & fine dovetails. The handles are beautifully turned, the pedestals sit on plinth bases and have porcelain casters underneath so this can be wheeled around. The top lifts off and this can come apart in three pieces for ease of transport.
This desk is finished & polished on the back, so can sit in the middle of a room if need be.
We have recently had this re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age. There is just some minor wear beneath the polish and this has a lovely overall patina.
