Pair of Antique Victorian Walnut Open Bookcases
Pair of antique figured walnut open bookcase in lovely condition, with adjustable shelves. This pair of bookcases have been reconstructed from antique wardrobes, pianos, etc, by a top cabinet maker. The original figured walnut veneers are of excellent quality & the sides are solid timbers. To look at, you would think these bookcases were totally original, because of the way they are constructed. I do normally have some other similar open bookcase of different sizes, so please check my other items. These bookcases are exceptional quality & are not easy to get hold of because of the scarcity of decent old wood. Please do not confuse these with the other inferior models that are floating around. Due to the popularity of these bookcases, I am now taking orders for special sizes.
THIS PAIR HAVE BEEN SOLD BUT I CAN TAKE ORDERS FOR THE SAME OR ANY OTHER KIND.

Antique Hard to Find Victorian Burr Walnut Open Bookcase
This antique burr walnut bookcase has been re-constructed from a large Victorian burr walnut wardrobe & in fact we have made two identical bookcases out of this wardrobe. I have based the design on similar ones I’ve had in the past which seemed to be very popular, but this bookcase is very unique because of the quality of the walnut & there will only be these two available. We do make similar designs of bookcases all the time mainly to order, but not all the wood will be antique, because many people are working to budget. The construction is always first class & to be honest, normally better than original antique bookcases, because they are always hand made by a master cabinet maker. The adjustable shelves have shark teeth supports & the shelves all have burr walnut lipping. Please enlarge all of the images to appreciate these one off bookcases. I must also stress that these will be very hard to repeat, because of the difficulty in sourcing the correct antique pieces that will suit the conversions.

Large Antique Mahogany Open Bookcase
This large antique mahogany open bookcase has been reconstructed from very old timbers taken off antique wardrobes, pianos, etc. I had a very similar piece ordered to size by a client who was very happy with it. In fact I liked it so much that I ordered one too, because it's the sort of piece that everyone wants an original of, but won't find. This bookcase is very similar to the other one on the web site, but a bit wider. It's made with solid timbers & is beautifully constructed. There are two separate compartments each with adjustable pine shelves, faced off in mahogany. In the corners are 'shark tooth' supports, just like the Victorian ones. The top cornice just lifts off, the middle separates into two sections, which lift off the plinth. This is a very practicable piece of furniture & will hold a lot of books. It has been hand 'French Polished' & so has a nice overall character.
THIS ACTUAL BOOKCASE WAS SOLD, BUT THERE IS ANOTHER ONE IN THE SHOP AT THE MOMENT WHICH IS THE SAME WIDTH BUT A BIT LOWER.

Pair of Antique Chippendale Style Leather Wing Armchairs (Customizable Upon Request)£2,250.00 + VAT
Very comfortable pair of antique Chippendale style leather wing armchairs. They have been completely re-upholstered with coil springs, feather cushions, while the leather has been hand coloured & antiqued. These armchairs have generous proportions & sit on mahogany legs with cross stretchers, which give them more stability. Please don’t confuse these with the mass produced pre-dyed models out there. These are full of character, will last a lifetime & the finish on the leather will improve with age. I have just bought a load of these wing chairs from a large hotel chain who were refurbishing, so I have many more pairs in store, ready to polish & re-upholster. There is one more pair on my web site that are a different colour & not deep buttoned. However, I have many more waiting to be covered in any colour or format needed. If you want them with basic hand colouring without the leather being antiqued, they can be bought for about £400 less. Personally, I think it’s worth going the extra mile with these, because they look antique, with loads of character & the colour will improve with age. All the models are hand tacked & have coil springs inside, so they will last a lifetime. It’s important that you enlarge all the images to appreciate the detail & colouring. This pair are a kind of chestnut colour. The other pair on the web site are more of a cognac colour.
