Reconstructed Antique Victorian Burr Walnut Open Bookcase
Antique burr walnut tall open bookcase in lovely condition, with adjustable shelves. This bookcase has been reconstructed from antique wardrobes, pianos, etc., by a top cabinet maker, The burr walnut veneers are of excellent quality & the sides are solid timbers. To look at, you would think this bookcase is totally original, because of the way it’s are constructed. I do have another similar one & a matching smaller pair also, so please check my other items. These bookcases are exceptional quality & are not easy to get hold of because of the scarcity of decent old wood. The last time I was lucky to get some was over a year ago. Please do not confuse these with the other inferior models that are floating around.

Pair of Antique Georgian Mahogany Bedside Chests
Pair of antique Georgian mahogany bedside chests, with three drawers in each. They have crossbanded tops, brass handles & bracket feet. I believe they may have been reconstructed from a larger Georgian period chest of drawers at some time, but this is how I acquired them. They are in good condition, with a few minor markings to the polish.

Antique Victorian Mahogany Open Bookcase
This large antique mahogany open bookcase has been reconstructed from very old timbers taken off antique wardrobes, pianos, etc. I had a very similar piece ordered to size by a client who was very happy with it. In fact I liked it so much that I ordered one too, because it’s the sort of piece that everyone wants an original of, but won’t find. This is the next best thing. It’s made with solid timbers & is beautifully made. There are two separate compartments each with adjustable pine shelves, faced off in mahogany. In the corners are ‘shark tooth’ supports, just like the Victorian ones. The top cornice just lifts off, the middle separates into two sections, which lift off the plinth. This is a very practicable piece of furniture & will hold a lot of books. This bookcase has been hand ‘French Polished’ & so has a nice overall character.
PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE BUYING, BECAUSE THESE ARE INDIVIDUALLY MADE TO YOUR OWN REQUIREMENTS, WHICH WILL NEED TO BE DISCUSSED BEFORE ORDERING.
THIS ACTUAL BOOKCASE WAS SOLD, BUT I CAN TAKE ORDERS ON THIS OR ANY SIZE REQUIRED. THEY TAKE ABOUT 3-4 WEEKS TO MAKE. PRICE WILL DEPEND ON SIZE & WOOD USED. PRICE WILL DEPEND ON REQUIREMENTS.

Pair of Antique Victorian Burr Walnut Bedside Chests
Stunning pair of antique Victorian burr walnut bedside chests in good condition. There is a beautiful pattern of burr walnut figuring on the tops, drawer fronts, curved corners & even on the base plinths. One of the drawers is a double & all the drawers look like they have the original handles. This pair of chests have a lovely original mellow colour & are full of character, with natural distressing in the wood. Unlike most of these pairs in the market, they look completely original & not made up from something else. Although when we picked them up, they were half painted & were much deeper. We just had them polished & cut back a bit in depth, because they looked too cumbersome. These are unique & can’t be repeated. Please enlarge all the images to appreciate these chests. Also, there is a makers name stamped into the top of one of the drawers (see image).

Antique Re-Constructed Burr Walnut Open Bookcase
This bookcase has been reconstructed from antique wardrobes, pianos, etc.
Antique Victorian reconstructed burr walnut open bookcase, in good condition & of lovely proportions. This piece has been reconstructed using old wood where possible & top quality European burr walnut veneers. It has all the features of the Victorian models, with the shark teeth supports for the adjustable shelves, carved corbels, a plinth base & a bold detachable cornice. It has all been French Polished & has lots of character. The main difference between this one & all the previous ones we have made, is the inside. The inside back & sides have been veneered in figured walnut & polished. This is a far more expensive way of doing them, because we usually have the insides just stained like the Victorian ones were. I thought this would look much smarter & could be used for other things besides books. Also, it's large than the previous ones.
Width – 41″, 104 cm
Depth – 14″, 36 cm
Depth in Middle – 11.5″, 29 cm
Height – 78″, 198 cm
THIS IS SOLD NOW, BUT WE CAN MAKE ANOTHER ONE TO ORDER ANY SIZE./ Share
Antique Pollard Oak Open Bookcase
Antique open bookcase which has been re-constructed from other antique furniture. The quality as always is wonderful & this is a one off piece. Please take a look at all the images. It has pollard oak veneers, solid oak sides, a pine panelled back, adjustable shelves on shark teeth supports & has been hand French polished. Not everyone understands pollard oak, but it is similar to burr walnut or elm & it was used a lot by Victorian cabinet makers.
