A beautiful antique French carved gilt wood armchair, dating from around the 1860-1880 period.

This is of very good quality, with gorgeous carving throughout. It sits on turned and fluted legs, with acanthus leaf carving and scrolled armrests. The proportions are very generous and this is very comfortable.

The gilt finish has just the right amount of wear, the frame is solid and perfectly distressed with a lovely patina. We have just had this re-upholstered in a cream cotton fabric.
