An excellent Georgian period mahogany armchair in the Chippendale style. This very fine example was made in England, it dates from around 1760-80’s period.
It is of absolutely fabulous quality, with a very bold and beautifully carved solid mahogany frame. It has a wide and generous stuff over seat, sitting on strong cabriole legs with a stretchered base. The pierced back rest is beautifully carved, as are the scroll over arms.
We have had this re-polished and re-upholstered in a cream cotton fabric. The condition is excellent for its age, with a gorgeous colour and patina.
This armchair would also make a great desk chair.
