An extremely beautiful and very well made antique Regency period caned armchair. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1810-1820 period.
It is of very fine quality, the solid beech frame has lovely spherical details at the end of the armrests, it sits on splayed sabre shaped legs with brass feet caps and brass casters. The proportions are lovely, and it is very comfortable as well.
We have had the frame re-polished, the cane is all in good order. The original horse hair filled cushion has been newly re-upholstered in a cream cotton fabric. The condition is excellent for its age, with some very minor normal surface wear and patina to be expected on a period piece.
