An extremely beautiful and impressive antique Regency period chaise longue in brass inlaid rosewood. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1810-1820’s.
The quality is outstanding, this has a gorgeous sweeping design and it is very well made. The solid rosewood frame has wonderful curves accentuated by beautiful polished inlays. The sabre shaped legs have carved paw feet with brass casters beneath, the back of the chaise is also nicely finished, so this can be used as a free standing item.
We have had the frame re-polished and newly upholstered in a cream cotton fabric. The seat cushion is plump and feather filled, the bolster cushions have been newly made. This is in superb condition for its age, with some minor historical wear and patina visible beneath the polish here and there.
