A stunning antique Victorian carved mahogany bench / stool by Waring and Gillows. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1880-1900 period.
It is of extremely fine quality and is a very useful item, perfect for use in various settings including as a window seat, bench at the end of a bed or as an entry way bench. The solid mahogany frame has profuse and crisp carving, it is finished identically front and back, so can be used as a free standing item.
We have had the frame re-polished, we have also had it fully re-upholstered in a cream cotton fabric. The condition is excellent for its age, with just some extremely minor wear remaining beneath the polish here and there.
