A beautiful and very well made antique William IV period mahogany and leather caned armchair. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1830-1840 period.
It is of very fine quality, the solid mahogany frame has beautifully carved scrolled armrests, it sits on carved baluster legs with brass casters. The proportions are lovely, and it is very comfortable as well.
We have had the frame re-polished, the cane is all in good order. The feather filled leather cushion has been newly made in a hand dyed brown leather. The condition is excellent for its age, with normal surface wear and patina to be expected on a period piece.
We also have another near identical chair coming through and currently being restored, if you are interested in a closely matched pair, let us know.
