A fabulous and very comfortable antique Victorian rocking armchair. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1880-1890’s period.
It is beautifully made from solid oak and leather, it has a sprung mechanism that works well and doesn’t creak or groan.
The seat, padded arm rests & all the back are hand tacked onto the frame. There are nicely turned bobbin rails under the arms, plenty of cross stretchers across the base & casters under the feet.
We have had this fully restored; the leather has been hand coloured and revived by our leather polisher, and the frame has been re-polished. It is in excellent condition for its age, with a gorgeous patina.
