A fantastic pair of antique leather and mahogany Gainsborough armchairs. These were made in England, they date from around the 1900-1910 period.
The quality is superb, these are well built, sturdy and very comfortable. The burgundy leather has a beautiful patina, having just been revived. The mahogany has also been recently polished; these are in excellent overall condition for their age.
The leather is brass tacked, and they have stretchered bases for extra stability. There is beautiful carving on the arms, and also beautifully carved fretwork at the angles of the legs and seats.
