An outstanding set of ten antique solid mahogany dining chairs with a classic Hepplewhite shield back design. These were made in England, they date from around the 1880-1900 period.
They are of exceptional quality, with beautiful detailed carving on the pierced shield backs. They sit on tapered legs terminating in spade feet, the carvers have beautifully scrolled arms.
The solid mahogany frames have acquired a stunning patina and gorgeous colour tone over the years.
We have had them recently re-polished, the frames are in superb condition for their age. We have had the stuff over seats re-upholstered in a cream cotton fabric, and have retained the original horse hair stuffing.
