A stunning set of six William IV period mahogany dining chairs in solid mahogany. They were made in England, and date from around the 1830-1840’s.
The quality is superb, they have beautifully carved pierced ‘balloon’ backs, with sabre shaped back legs and nicely turned front legs, with the typical William IV tulip carving at the top. They are sturdy and supportive, with seat pads that can be easily lifted on and off, they are held in place with dowels.
We have had the frames re-polished and the seats re-upholstered in a cream cotton fabric. They are in excellent condition for their age, with just some minor wear and small marks beneath the polish, commensurate for age.
