An excellent set of antique solid mahogany dining chairs. These were made in England, we believe they date from around the 1800-1820 period.
It is very rare to find a large set of early period dining chairs like this, the mahogany has acquired an absolutely gorgeous patina over the years. They are of very fine quality, with beautiful carving on the backrests and lovely tapered legs.
They would have been restored at some point over the years, all the chairs are very sturdy and sound, with plenty of character. The leather seats would have been re-upholstered not too long ago, we have gently revived the chairs with a fresh wax polish as we acquired them in very good condition.
These chairs came out of a large private house in London along with many fine items that will be going on the site over the next few days.
