A fantastic antique leather wing back armchair. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1890-1910 period.
It is of superb quality with lovely proportions, it is very comfortable to relax in. The deep buttoned leather upholstery is all original, with a gorgeous deep chestnut brown colour. It sits on solid mahogany legs with a double stretchered base, the edges are all brass tacked. The cushion is feather filled and the frame is all stuffed with original horse hair.
We have had the leather revived and hand coloured by our leather restorer, there have been a couple of very minor repairs to the edges of the leather on the outer side. As the leather is original, the outer arms have worn and crackled very slightly in places, adding to the overall patina and charm. The leather on the back and main seat area is all thick and strong.
