A wonderful antique bentwood half hatstand / coat rack, likely made by Thonet in Austria, and dating from the 1880-1900 period.

This has an unusual and useful design with a flat back, this is designed to stand against the wall and has a space saving design.

The wood has a beautiful colour and patina, this is in lovely condition for its age having just been re-polished.

These hat and coat stands are quite rare to find with flat backs & in such good original condition.
