A wonderful original antique Victorian bentwood hatstand / coat rack. This was made in central Europe in Austria, most likely by Thonet. It dates from around the 1880-1900 period.

It is a fantastic model, about as good as antique hatstands come. It has generous proportions with a very wide and beautifully curvaceous base. It has eight beautifully curved supports on the top for coats and hats, the base is designed to support umbrellas and walking sticks.

We have recently had this re-polished, it is in excellent overall condition for its age.
